What IS Profound RF Cellulite Reduction?

Profound RF is a non-invasive treatment used for cellulite reduction at our practice in Hampton, New Hampshire. Cellulite can give legs and the buttocks that dreaded “cottage cheese” look, but there is a non-surgical solution. Profound RF treatments use radiofrequency energy to open up fractional thermal channels within the skin. This helps to stimulate cell and tissue regeneration for smoother skin.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

Before your Profound RF treatment, Tara Delle Chiaie will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area(s) and inject a numbing medicine. Then the Profound RF device will pass over your skin. The device contains five pairs of microneedles with electrodes that deliver RF energy directly into your skin and tissue. Cellulite is caused by the connective bands of fibrous tissue that are present in the natural fatty layer below the skin. As these bands of fibrous tissue tighten, they pull downward on the skin and create an uneven, dimpled appearance. Profound RF treatments increase the skin’s thickness, remodel the fibrous bands with increased collagen and reduce fat in the area.

You can expect to see some redness and experience mild soreness after your treatment, but this should fade within a day. You can return to your normal routine immediately; there is no downtime. We just ask that you refrain from strenuous activity for the first 24 hours. Any bruising or swelling will be temporary, and should fade within 1-5 days.
